The First Wazua Mbuzi Choma
On Friday Morning there was a feeling of anticipation and excitement as we made final preparations for the very first Wazua Mbuzi Choma . The designs of the tokens was scrutinized and changed a few times. Clearly, everybody wanted everything to be perfect!
I reached pizza garden at around 11.00pm. The section reserved for Wazua was already draped in the Wazua colors: green, black and white. There were 12 tables with 4 chairs each as we were expecting about 50 people. (This however turned out to be a wrong estimate as we were at least 60!) Njoki the banquets co-coordinator was really helpful in ensuring our specifications were met.
By 3:15 the first guest had arrived – the son of a Sultan in Sudan with his guest. Slowly more people started trickling in. Welcome drinks were served promptly and by 4:00pm the platters were already on the tables.
Our M.C. for the day Ted Muganda then led the audience through some debates and discussions. The feedback is that this was one of the most enjoyable part of the evening. The tent was filled with laughter and chatter as people expressed their different opinions on matters to do with wealth.
The media was also present to capture the event and also partake in the merriment. People begun leaving at around 8.00pm others choosing to remain behind and socialize.
All in all it was a very lovely experience. Guests included Business people, Accountants, Government and NGO employees, Bankers and many other people interested in wealth creation.
I am definitely looking forward to the next Mbuzi Choma!
Wazua Team.
